Previously, I mentioned how useful a pre-purchase environmental survey is due to the time and expense of permitting for protected species like gopher tortoises and burrowing owls. Of course, the same can be said about wetlands. Even single family lots in Lehigh Acres, Wheeler Road in Hendry County, and Golden Gate Estates could have wetlands, and impacts could require an Environmental Resource Permit. This can be costly and time-consuming to say the least.
